Students from College of Home Economics shine at Aghaz interactive session with UNFPA team Dated: 7th January,2025 Students from the College of Home Economics actively participated in the Aghaaz Interactive Session, organized in collaboration with the UNFPA team.The event centered around the game "Patte ki Baat," which focused on four critical themes: Early Child Marriages, Gender-Based Violence, Health and Well-being, and Gender Equality.Dr. Shakeel Ahmad, Chairman, Department of Social Work along with senior faculty of College of Home Economics hosted Dr. Melania Hidayat from United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Pakistan Country Office at Aghaaz Peshawar space for a visit. Other noticeable guests included Mahjabeen Qazi , Rabia Masood Pasha Gillani , Dr. Shakeel, Mr. Sadaat and Mr. Athar (Project Analyst, UNFPA) ,while the students’ from 7th Semester, Department of Health and Nutrition Sciences actively and enthusiastically participated in the activities. The interactive game provided a unique platform for the students to express their vview and develop a deeper understanding of the pressing issues affecting society.By engaging students in interactive sessions like "Patte ki Baat," the initiative seeks to promote awareness and foster a culture of inclusivity and respect.The College of Home Economics is committed to nurturing socially responsible individuals who can contribute to productive discussions. The students' participation in the Aghaaz Interactive Session demonstrates their enthusiasm for creating a better future and their willingness to engage with critical social issues. Simultaneously , students look forward to future collaborations with UNFPA to experience international exposure.
